Have you been told that expressing anger is wrong and you should internalize it because you are a godly person?
Many of us have been told that it isn’t ok to be angry as a believer. However, I am here to tell you that the expression of anger is normal and often vital to our mental health. Christ set for us an example of how to use anger and do so righteously. We read in scripture that some people decided it would be fine to sell animals sacrificed to God as was required during that time. The issue was these people were charging outrageous prices right in the temple court. This was very disrespectful to the Creator. Jesus cake and saw what was occurring in His father’s house, the temple. He became furious and rebuked the greedy people and even turned over their tables! Now, was Jesus wrong? Since the Bible tells us he never sinned, obviously he was not. Turning a Holy and revered place of worship into a den of robbers! We read in the book of Matthew the following: Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buyingB)" style="line-height: 22px; vertical-align: top;"> and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changersC)" style="line-height: 22px; vertical-align: top;">and the benches of those selling doves.D)" style="line-height: 22px; vertical-align: top;"> 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’a]" style="line-height: 22px; vertical-align: top;">[a]E)" style="line-height: 22px; vertical-align: top;"> but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’b]" style="line-height: 22px; vertical-align: top;">[b]” Anger is a natural emotional response to sinful or wicked behavior. The key is to not allow such anger to cause us or any of our loved ones to stumble or lose control. So remember that our Savior provided us an example of what type of anger is appropriate. Anything that is disrespectful to God is justifiable as long as we show love to one another. its very hard but with God, all things are possible! i just had a thought... are you able to love unconditionally?
There is absolutely, unequivocally no way to speak to the Father without first going through His mediator, Jesus Christ! Don't ever be misled believers and non believers alike.
Millions of people observe Christmas and Hanukkah each year. But, did you know that the two festivals, which have long been thought of as Christian and Jewish respectively may actually have more in common than we thought?
It turns out that "Hanukkah" (dedication in Hebrew) or The Feast of Re-dedication of the second Jewish temple in Israel is celebrated annually on the 25th of Kislev, which would be the month of December on the Gregorian calendar. Christians celebrate the birth of Christ annually on December 25 (though Christ was not born on that day). The Jewish people, whom many became followers of Christ, wanted to honor their heritage of winning the battle against evil and restoring the temple of God and also the prophecy and birth of Jesus Christ. It cannot be a coincidence that both celebrations occur on the 25 of December (Kislev). However, because the Jewish people use the moon to count the days of the week, Hanukkah can occur in late November through December. Years ago, I didn't ponder too much on the significance of the two; however, I always paid homage to both festivals feeling a connection to my Jewish heritage (even if by adoption) and my love for the Savior of the World. Any connection to paganism is actually incorrect. All one needs to do is to study the bible to see the beautiful connection that exists between two faiths that surprisingly have looked to the deeper understanding and application of these two world-renown events. We would be wise to look at Christ Himself for matters of judgement on other people in the book of Matthew when He wrote:
: You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye 2018 promises to be a year and period of time when many will learn and grow in the faith of Jesus Christ. A mighty witness for our Lord and Savior will begin. Join us here to discuss what is of importance to us as believers in the 21st century.
I invite you to share your thoughts in a respectful, loving manner as our Heavenly Father requires. Remember, our God is a God of order and not chaos; therefore, any destructive posts will be deleted, and we ask that you use only the Holy Scriptures when having a friendly debate. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! |
