The earliest historical reference to The Faithful Church of Christ, chronicles its beginnings as the direct growth of a revival meeting conducted by an Evangelist by the name of Elder J. H. Crumbly. Elder Crumbly began this revival during the year of 1933. He brought direction to this informal assemblage by forming it into an organized congregation on January 27, 1934 and dedicating the newly formed Assembly on January 28, 1934. Records show that the Deacons appointed at that time were: W. Rock, A. Greer, A. Weeks, C. High and C. Britto. Subsequent to the establishment of the Church, various Auxiliaries were formed to aid in the growth of the Church. These included the following: the Missionary Auxiliary, Brotherhood Auxiliary, Sunday School and the Pentecostal Young People’s Union. In April of 1934, the records showed an Elder Robert Johnson II as Pastor with Elder Ethelbert T. Payne as Assistant Pastor. Subsequent data places the location of this small congregation in a storefront at 52 E. Lenox Street, Roxbury. The rental for this location was Fourteen Dollars ($14.00) per month. In the year of 1935, on March 1st, Elder Ethelbert T. Payne was installed as the Pastor with Elder Irving Niles serving as the Assistant Pastor. The Church reorganized and connected with the Massachusetts State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Several years later, the Church moved from Lenox Street to 1070 Tremont Street in Roxbury. Rental was Twelve Dollars and Fifty Cents ($12.50). In the year of 1941, Elder Green was recorded as the new Assistant Pastor. During the month of May 1943, a new Trustee Board was elected: Pastor E. T. Payne, Deacon Walter Rock, Elder Arthur Weeks, Sister Phoebe Caines and Evangelist Edna Haynes. In July 1944, Pastor Payne brought before the Church, the matter of becoming incorporated in Massachusetts and on March 20, 1946, the Church became a legal corporation under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a Charter was issued. It was also during this year that a Church Extension Fund was initiated. The mortgage payments were Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per month.

The Church has been blessed by God to purchase nine (9) lots surrounding the original property of the Church, accomplishing the dimension of a full-city block. Suffragan Bishop Langham, as General Supervisor oversaw the development of this property into a landscaped parking lot with a twelve (12) foot collar of grass, trees and bushes setting it off. Hezekiah Pratt of Hezekiah Pratt & Associates, Inc., of Boston was the Architect and Webster Engineering Company, Inc., the General Contractor. The Dedication of the Church parking facility, which took place on Sunday, November 21, 1993, culminated into reality a dream of thirteen years.
We now look forward to expanding the quarters Greater Faithful Apostolic Ministries to accommodate current and future ministries.
